Sometimes its the corporations, sometimes its the employees, sometimes its the consumers not wanting anyone else to have nice things.
Offering free air is naive and most of their paying customers probably dont use it. Honestly, wawa doesn't do a lot to. Same thing at my local wawas. I bought an inflator for $30 off amazon and i'm not reliant on wawa or waiting in line for 30 minutes for free air. New digital free air pumps at wawa are a breeze to use but environmentally friend, too. Some wawa locations recently replaced their traditional air pumps with new digital ones. I found out recently that most gas stations don't have free air. I was driving home from work, of course had just passed a wawa, and noticed that my tire pressure light was on. Not needing to drive around trying to find a wawa with a working pump (because they're always broken) or fighting with one that charges money for a limited amount of time that makes it a race to do all four tires has been so nice.
